So far...

Last time I placed a message regarding strange behavior of my PC. Now, so far it hasn't showed the same issues again. Well let's hope it stays like that. I've not changed much beside a few driver upgrades.

Anyway, previous month I started working at my new Job. Which still is great and I go to work with joy. I got great colleges and some nice projects I can work on. Beside that I've not done much. Played some Guild Wars 2, Minecraft and Starcraft 2. Sadly I don't feel like playing SC2 that much lately.
The Minecraft server I've been playing in has changed it map. Meaning I had to make a new base, where this time I picked a desert to build in. On one side I got a swamp and on the other side of it a forest. I've managed to build a statue of my skin within my base. But it's hidden from plain side.

I also got in contact with an old friend of mine, haven't seen him in like 10 years or so. Still he hasn't changed much and it was fun hanging out with him. We played some pool and talked about what we have been doing. And just today I went to see Fast & Furious 6 with an old college of mine. It's a great movie with allot of action, and if you like fast cars and allot of action you might want to check it out.

Hope you all have fun with the things you do and perhaps we someday will meet again.

Haunted or a will of it's own

Now I don't know if anyone reads this, still I will post it. Feel free to let me know if you read this and want to see more posts. From time to time I might post something, even without requests.

A few days ago when I was sleeping, it was around 4 am. When suddenly I woke up from a strange noise and light. My room was lit in blue and it sounded like fans were spinning. When I turned around I saw my computer running. I can see this because it has a window in the side-panel, and because it has some blue (and white) LEDs inside. First I thought that I didn't turn the PC of, but I always turn off the power switch that powers my two monitors.
So I stood up and walked to my PC and turned it off again. When I turned around and almost was in my bed the PC powered on again... So I turned it off again and turned around, waiting just for a second, and bamm it powered back on... I look back towards the PC wondering what might cause it. Now I do got an IR-USB receiver attached to it, so I thought maybe that thing is going nuts. I turned around took my remote and put it in my drawer.
I powered down the PC yet again (fifth time so far) and went back to bed. This time it took a bit longer then a second or so for it to turn back on. Again I went to shut it down and I waited, I waited for 10 seconds and nothing happened. Just about when I was going back to bed again bamm the PC powered back on. Now I thought maybe I get some signal from outside, so I opened my door... nothing there, look at my window... closed with rollers... so what... what could it be? I looked at my night stand and saw the remote for my lights. Since it also uses IR I thought, maybe, nah, but maybe?? So I put that remote in my drawer as well. And just to be sure I also put my TV remotes in a drawer. Now when I powered down the PC yet again I waited for some time and sadly it powered back on.

Because I couldn't figure out what caused the issue. As all devices that could broadcast IR were in drawers. I turned off my PC again, this time it didn't want to power off completely. The screens were black but all lights were still lid and the fans still spinning. So I long pressed the power button on the front-side of the PC and it powered down completely. Quickly I turned off both power switches and headed back too bed.

I still haven't figured out what caused the issue. My PC didn't have a timer set, nor do any of the remotes (except for one, duh) power the PC when I press any or all buttons. Still find it strange but it didn't happen again (yet). However I've also had my ceiling light go on/off by itself and my ceiling fan. The ceiling fan/light usually goes on/off when I am operating my telly. And due too the rollers in-front of my window no IR from outside can come in. Nor does anyone in my house pull this kind of prank.

Anyway I now wonder if my PC is just possessed or gained a will of it's own. Might it happen again I will try to record it and for sure ask what it wants to do. Maybe it just wanted to play a game. "How about a nice game of chess?"

Some random thoughts

So for those that have been wondering what I've been doing. Like I wrote, I've been playing Guild Wars 2. Well and some other games on the side like Starcraft II, Minecraft and some other games. As for SC2, can't wait until the Hearth of the Swarm expansion.

Now regarding GW2, I've been playing it a fair amount and still love it allot. Trying to do my 'daily' daily, and leveling up some alts. The first character that I had was an Engineer, love that class and explored the entire world with that one. Now I can go into further detail regarding my characters but the reason for my post was a conversation in the map chat yesterday.
In the chat a player was complaining that GW2 was boring, he did however like PvP a bit. But since he was bored he was playing that game. What to get more bored? I still find it funny that you have those kind of players, seen them in my server and in other games. Why bother with a game you think is boring I would ask myself. You should have fun with the things you do.

Goodbye server

Hello and goodbye too all.
As you might have seen the server is now offline. This is permanent because of a number of reasons. For those not familiar with us. In the past Stromgarde (Highrate) was a World of Warcraft - Wrath of the Lich King private server.

Now the reasons that I shutdown the server is because the lack of players and the lost interest of myself. It's not that I didn't want to run the server anymore, but I don't feel like playing WoW anymore. The reason for that being, that I'm too busy with other games and things.
One of the games being Guild Wars 2, a great MMO that only costs money once to get playing. I've been playing it since launch and still loving it allot. You can find me in the european server Blacktide. For those not familiar with Guild Wars 2, look it up and try it out would be my advice.

Well I might post more in the future, depending on how busy I am. Have fun all and enjoy life.

Kind regards,
Cypress
